I find this to be a fun way to teach children that they can use many differant things to make art. That they don't have to be limited to the basic supplies. It helps they're creativity.

Yikes! When we teach Creative Activities at the community college level, we discourage the use of food used as art material unless the kids can acutally eat the product. This is teaching children it is ok to waste food on artwork. Although they will undoubtedly consume some cereal as they roll it into crumbs, children in poverty do not have food to play with in this manner.
