Learning About Columbus in Schools

Find out what students are learning about Columbus in school.
Re: Learning About Columbus in Schools
So do students think Columbus was a villain? "No," answers Feldman. "We try and teach the students that he was a man of his time and that we can't evaluate him using the values of today." Murder, Rape, and Torture has always been frowned upon and at no point in history was celebrated. We can not excuse it as part of the "times". Hitler was never excused because of the "times" why is Columbus any different?
