Why Basic Toys May Be Best

Don't become a Pushover Parent in the toy store. Follow these guidelines when shopping with your kids.
Give a child creative options
We couldn’t agree more, and that’s why we started a toy store to focus on those categories you mention. At The Creativity Institute, we only carry toys that nurture creativity by giving children creative options. We carry the categories you mention such as blocks and dolls, plus puppets, art supplies, toy musical instruments, as well as dollhouses and theme activity sets (fairies, pirates, jungle and so on). We’ve avoided carrying games and puzzles, because they only have one outcome. Our focus isn’t on winning, but exploring and imagination. Our customers include many teachers who recognize and appreciate the educational value of these toys. We also serve a number of grandparents who shop with us because they still remember the value of these toys from their own childhoods. You can visit our store at creativityinstitute.com. Gwynn Torres
