I love the game of Spades. It is fast paced, competitive and easy to learn. You are right there are many variations on the game of Spades. I think the most fun is three handed Spades, where each player gets seventeen cards and plays on his or her own. (The 2 of clubs is left out of the deal). In fact, I rather like leaving off team play altogether in four handed as well. Thanks for a nice overview on the rules of spades.
