Adoption: Single with Children

Learn the pros and cons of single parenting and adopting children.
Re: Adoption: Single with Children
I've been thinking about all of those factors. I haven't adopted my first baby as yet but my spouse and I have recently divorced. This could definitely put a strain on things. I'm not sure if I would be doing a child an justice by bringing him/her into a single parent home. However, I do know that it will be hard but I really do want to adopt and I think that baby will enough love from me and will not need or want for anything. Great info, thanks. Lesley

It is very very hard.
My husband and I are newly divorced and I'm a work at home mom of 2 kids. And even thinking about adopting another. I always had my husband there to help with the kids so I could work and try to make things happen but he decided he wanted out. It's really really difficult to manage homelife along with worklife and children. Some days are easier than others. Maddy

Never be discouraged.
My brother adopted a little boy from a local family here in our community. He is a single, hardworking American man. My brother is a very caring person. Ever since we were little he "adopted" every lonely animal he could find and brought them home to drive me nuts. lol. He adopted Ashton 2 years ago through a no lawyer service and so I did the same when adopting my niece's newborn baby girl. http://www.myadoptionforms.com/booklet.html. They make the adoption process a lot easier. No lawyer, no agency. Works great when you already have the child to adopt, its just a matter of paperwork. Best of luck to all. Andrea
