Age played into my decision. As the guardians we've currently chosen get older, I know we'll need to revise our choices at some point.
I identify more with the Obamas than the Palins, so that's where my vote went. Much of what I've read about Sarah Palin makes me wonder about her judgement. She was out of state when her water broke, and still chose to make the long trip home to deliver at her own hospital. I understand she may have felt she had time, since it was her 5th child. But if my water broke, and I was high risk, giving birth to a premature baby with Down Syndrome, I would have wanted to get to a hospital asap... not on a flight from Texas to Alaska with a stop over. Just one reason I wouldn't want her to raise my kids.

I voted for the Bidens. I'm moved by Senator Biden's loss of his first wife and daughter. He's been a single parent, he's lived horrible lost, he's done a great job. She's a teacher and nobody understands what's going on out there with our children better than teachers. They live the front lines. This was a question about parenting; not the economy or Iraq. On this issue, the Bidens impress me. The Obamas are still new at the parenting. The McCains essentially don't live together, he didn't even recognize her drug addiction, they have nothing to do with a community of faith, and they live a split marriage. That's not for my kids. And the Palins? I don't want my children raised by hateful folks like that. I want my kids to live in a world that's healing, not divided.
