Choosing a Divorce Mediator

Find out how to choose a divorce mediator.
Choosing a Divorce Mediator
The article has misleading, incorrect, and some false info. Many states require certification/registration/continuing education, and have a state-legislated ethics code. Divorce mediation requires extensive training. Many law schools/colleges require conflict resolution coursework. http://www.godr.org Georgia mediators. http://www.mediate.com for referrals. Mediators who also work as lawyers/psychologists/family therapists do NOT and are NOT allowed to do so at mediation. Mediators cannot advise, suggest, or interpret local, state, or federal law. Mediators should know child support guidelines laws to help calculate expected costs. Mediated agreements are not binding; however, can be if all parties agree and present agreement to a court. Lawyers who attend/represent clients advise, suggest, and interpret law. Mediators travel globally. Mediate, don't litigate. Thank you for reading my comments. Cherri Brown cbrown@neutralplace.org
