Off Leash dog training
Teaching a dog to heel off leash is quite easy, actually. Teaching the dog to come when called will make off leash heeling very simple. No food or treats should ever be used in dog training. The age and breed of the dog is immaterial when training off leash. If fact, the older the dog the more likely he is not to come. This author of this article should not be writing about things he knows nothing about. Follow this guy's advice and you will get your dog killed. Traing Dog Off-Leash
Let me preface my comment by saying that my dog is off-leash trained, and listens to my commands about 95% of the time while off leash.
As much as I can appreciate different techniques and methods to dog training, I take great objection to training ones dog for off leash control using treats.
The only way you can truly control your dog off leash is through respect and authority. Treat brides will only lead to a dog who respects what's in your hand more than he respects you.
