September 24, 2009 7:55 AM Real water conservations starts by going vegan
It takes 2500 gallons to make a pound of beef compared to about 25 gallons for a pound of most vegetables. Animal agriculture is creating an enormous amount of environmental degradation and using up a great deal of water to grow plants to feed animals. A lot less plants could be grown to feed people directly, saving water, freeing up land for forests and wildlife preserves and parks, reducing global warming and improving our health. Help kids become responsible by telling them the truth about where meat and dairy comes from - factory farms, how cruel it is to the animals and destructive on the environment.
