Hi, my son sounds alot like yours, although we are not divorced. My husband and I are both actively involved in his school life and have great communciation with his teachers. Yet, my son tells me the same things your does. "It's to hard or He doesn't want to." And then he will grit his teeth and get frustrated as soon as we try to go on with a lesson. We push through it however. He did finally learn his alphabet. My son is now in the first grade, and once again we are having issues with him needing to learn to read. He loves math and numbers, but when you pull out anything involving letters, he shuts down. So far we have just been trying to encourge him to learn and just to try to do what his teachers say. Hopefully, he will catch on and he will learn to enjoy reading. Take Care!
