I totally sympathize with this Mom's concern. My daughter recently turned 21 and has a boyfriend I have major concerns about. They knew each other in high school and I knew him as well. I remember at all the events that kids and families went to - ie the local restaurant after the football games, this kid was there and always bumming off of the parents there. He was charming, the Mom's liked him and they always paid for him. He indirectly approached me at a game. He sat down to talk to me and 'be charming'. He commented that he was hungry. I suggested that he go to the concession stand and he said he couldn't because he did not have any money. I did not offer. He has now joined the military. My daughter is in college and 'waiting for him.' He is home now for a few months and she wants him at EVERY family event. She has asked to have him come with us out of state to our annual trip to my parent's house. We are only there 3-4 days and it seems to me she could allow us this little amount of time without him.
