Finding Adult Allies for Your Teen

Don't try to do it all yourself -- other adults can be a positive influence on your teen.

Re: Finding Adult Allies for Your Teen
I never expected that they disclose the specifics of what was discussed. I did believe that my friend should have told me the advice she was giving my daughter. Afterall when an adult gives a child parental advice, its only appropriate to mention something to the parents I think.
Maybe advice to me about how to gain my daughters trust. I trusted and respected both I feel so betrayed.
I agreed with this BUT....
I am a mother to a daughter who used my bff (her Godmother) as a confidant. Well for years it was great. Then my daughter turned 13 and all of a sudden it became this big secret and I began to feel like an outsider. Neither one would even mention that they spoke. As it turns out my friend was betraying my trust and would call my daughter and tell her things we discussed. She broke my trust to gain my daughters. She became the one my daughter told everything to and my duaghter would barely even say hello to me.
