My 8 year old daughter has exactly the same thing in her right breast. A hard little lump under the nipple that developed very rapidly. I went to the GP and they said it was perfectly normal and we should go back in 6 months to make sure everything is developing normally. However the lump is getting more and more painful and is causing her some distress - is this still normal?

I just took my thirteen year old in for a lump on her right breast and was told it was a breast bud but what concerns me is what i have read about it is the bud don't get bigger and moves. My daughter doubled in size in two days very sore and very solid it does not move. And if buds are signs of puberty wouldn't the bud became a problem for her when she was developing breast a couple years ago and not now when she is b cup. i am very confused, her doctor is ordering an ultrasound just to make sure, (probably just to ease me) but that's ok.
