Raising Children Free of Prejudice

This article describes how to talk to children about race and prejudice.
Comunicating to my 12yr old son about his identy
I was sexually assulted when I was in the Military by an African American man which resulted in a pregnancy. I thought I could handle this, but now 14yrs later I find it very difficult to come to terms and talk to my son about this. Through the years he would asked me if he was adopted, but I would just tell him he is loved. My daughters, now 18 and 20 use to question his looks also. My husband has been supportive of me in all of this and tells me my son has to know something is up. My son lashes out at me and tells me he hates me. I dont know if it is because I am always the one after him to get his his homework done or tell him to be sure to do his chores but he sure takes all his hate out on me. He is not motivated at all unless it is a video game where he can blow someones head off.
I have attended some counceling sessions with him and my husband about his behavior but now I am out of of the country for three months and am not able to attend. My husband is dealing with it. But is leaving it up to me to let everyone know.
This means, my daughters, his parents, my parents, I feel I have kept this from him too long already and he is feeling the effects from it, especially now that he is in middle school. He has dropped out of every sport he started and has low self esteem.
