Hello, there, I kind of have the same problem here, my 1o year old girl, she has no friends, she is shy, alhtough, she is in a few activities out school, she does ballet, tap, jazz, she does gymnastics, and she used to be part of the girls scouts, so that i guess is why I can not understand why can she make any friends she knows more people than I do, and actually that;s is why we started her in ballet class at a age 4 because the psicologist told us she was very shy and that was a way to get her more outgoing, so now she will be 11 in a month and still no close friends or anyfriends. i always suggest her to get a play day, but all the kids are busy all the time. I see all this children I know from kindergarten how all of them become friend one with the other, how grups has been formed now that i few years has gone by, and my kid is no part of any of that.
Firsttime I get into this page and found this article, how can I post my questions and concerns directly to the adviser? please..

Have you tried observing your child inside the classroom or at a social setting? Could she be exhibiting behavior (aside from just staying quiet and shy) that is alienating other kids and making them stay away from her? If not, perhaps you can arrange a date with another parent and her child and go on a picnic or play date together. By starting this one friendship between your child and hers, your kid could start open up herself to other people.

Yes you can when i was in gradeschool i was very shy never talked! Dont worry the older i got the more outgoing i am! If she/he likes a certain kind of music take her/him to a concert! I like the jonas brothers and when i went to there concert i made lots of friends! Im just saying from a 14 year olds perpective! She/he will make friends just have her/him not lie to make friends that makes thing way worse in life! There are many ways of making friends you just have to have her/him get alittle more outgoing take her/him more places!

Beatriz, Reading your comment about your daughter... It's as if I wrote it. My daughter is in the same situation. Since kindergarten in the same school, and no close ties with other girls.
I'm at a loss. Yes I was the same way in school till I got to High School.
Looking for answers.

I will always remember when my son was that age and he was extremely shy and didn't have many friends until he went into secondary school. From there it did seem to look up as he was bringing friends home within months of him moving to the new school. Although it has seemed to alter now he has got into World of Warcraft :)
