Should My Young Daughter Get the HPV Vaccination?

The FDA has licensed a vaccine against the HPV virus that causes some cases of cervical cancer. Find out whether your daughter should be vaccinated.
Re: Should My Young Daughter Get the HPV Vaccination?
What about the fact that you, as a parent, are essentially saying okay to premarital sex. If you stress to your child that it is a bad idea for MANY reasons- the STD's out there, and now the risk of getting cancer- then they can make their own choices, but make them wisely. If they don't, then their decisions will affect them the rest of their lives. When she's finally ready to get married, if she's been sleeping around when she was a teenager, then it's her turn to tell her husband-to-be why she's got herpes. Not a nice conversation. I think all vaccinations such as these give the message that it's okay to have sex with someone you aren't going to marry, or that you don't know very well. If you date someone for a year or two before you have sex, you're eventually going to find out if they've had sex before. If he has, he could have gotten HPV, if he hasn't, theres no way he has it, and the girl is safe.

STDS
STDs and kids doing the naughty are way up. I would defiantly give my daughter the vaccine but all I have is a boy. looking at the numbers of STDs is crazy at the CDC and the fact that hpv symptoms are very rare especially in the strains that cause cancer. I would have the shot given to my daughter.
