The Dangers of Marijuana

What's stopping your kids from smoking marijuana? You won't know unless you ask. Here's a cheat sheet for talking to your teenager about the risks of smoking pot.
Dangers of cannibis
I find it very interesting that the very first consequence of smoking pot that is listed is a prison sentence. Why propegate the failed war on drugs? Let's get rid of prohibition and that won't be a problem. Prohibition itself leads to the deaths of way more people every year than using the drug itself, especially since nobody ever dies from using pot, something that alcohol nor tobacco can't say for themselves. Also, the fallacy of the addiction point is that the 100,000 people put in treatment centers are almost all made to do it when they are arrested. Marijuana is not addictive. All that being said, I would never condone marijuana use, especially for children. However, after childhood, the risks of marijuana use are extremely low, except for imprisonment.
Marijuana and teens
While I agree that teens are at a greater risk of trying marijuana, particularly in high school, it is important that they know there parents care about them regardless of the decision. Saying "No, bad!" will only cause the rebellious youth to become more interested. No, means go.
Something that this article does not mention is the fact in the thousands of years of use, marijuana has never caused an overdose. There have been ZERO deaths.
With regards to the memory loss, I would say what about watching TV for hours everyday? Is starring at a light bulb good for your kids?
The point is do not lie to your children. Tell them that marijuana is an illegal drug that should if used is only done by adults. Don't give them lies about risk of cancer and physical dependency. Lying to your kids is probably the worst thing you could do.
