Teen Refuses to Go to School

What can a parent do when her child makes up her mind not to attend a particular school?
Understand Teens Refuses to Go School
My daughter is currently a sophomore in high school and was diagnosed with Social Anxiety Disorder. Even though after a year and 1/2 we finally have an IEP in place, the school continues to treat her like a "discipline" problem rather than look at her illness. They have no patience with her and believe that I (the mother) am the cause of her problems because I do not give her "tough love". The psychiatrist she sees is apauled at the actions of the school. I have filed complaints with the state as well as an attorney. To the mother earlier, I understand your pain, but let me say that my daughter did go through the alternative program her freshman year. Although it worked well, keep in mind that you daughter will one day be in the real world and needs to learn to "cope" with the negativity. My daughter is learning that with help of a therapists and her psychologist. She also take medication which helps her anxiety, panic attacks and headaches.
My heart goes out to you! I DO FEEL YOUR PAIN. I've been there.
Goodluck!
