Introducing Your Child to the Computer: Online Games and Learning

Interactive, online play is a great way to bolster skills in both computer use and fundamental subjects. Get tips for helping your child get the most from her early learning activities on the computer.

My3 year-old son has loved the computer since before he could walk. He watched his Mom and Dad on it all the time and always loved to pound on the keys. Because of this we looked for places online that featured interactive learning games that would help with basics like literacy, counting, shapes and colors. We posted what we found on our blog as an annotated list of the best online toddler learning resources. We found great sites from the Literacy Center Education Network, Read Today, Starfall, PBS Kids, Fisher Price and more. Our favorite (and his) is Literacy Center Network. On that site, your toddler or preschooler can play interactive games and actually hear letters and words being read to them, so that she or he makes the connection between what is seen and what it sounds like. You can follow the link to see the full list. Does anyone else have other educational online sites they use?

Teaching you kids on computer is good but you must set on limitations on the sites that they may open. This can bring virus and can harm your computer system. When this happen, you must contact pc repair online as soon as possible to prevent the total damage on your unit.

It seems that most of the activities that kids use computers for today is some type of online activity. Whether its playing a game or researching a homework assignment, more and more kids are online today than ever before.

I think that it is very important to help kids understand that they need to be careful online. It's also a good idea to use some type of software or online tool to help keep kids safe.

Thanks,
Anthony
