Scheduling is a Key element in success at home. If I didn't schedule my work and my family time, I believe things would fall apart. Things almost did when I first starting working at home. My kids would blatantly rebel against me working. They couldn't fathom the concept of me working at home, right here in the house where they can see me, but not necessarily talk to me. I've carved out special time and separate work and family time. My house has finally settled down. So much I can take on another at home job, lol. They ARE definitely needed. I always feel a bit guilty when I'm working 13 hours per day trying to make ends meet and my kids are at home entertaining themselves. Another adult would be nice but sometimes not possible. I have gotten a bit better at it but my hubby works and is on the road often. Our incomes are not great so cutting back on my hrs wouldn't help. I do want to at least have two different jobs because doing the same thing for 13 hrs a day is really monotonous but I HAVE to. Work around your kids as much as possible
I found it easier for me to work around my daughter when she was a baby. When she napped I had to work. As she got older she was used to the way it was, the phone rings, no noise. Then my son came along, its all good when my now 6 year old daughter is at school but when she gets home, another adult is needed. Kids want to be kids but its really difficult to work constantly with your kids sitting around needing your attention. Set schedules for yourself, believe me, they are most definitely needed. Maddy
