The New Mom Dilemma: Stay at Home or Return to Work?

Returning to work after a new baby can be difficult. This article can help you decide whether staying at home or going back to work is right for you.
Staying Home
I've done both - went back to work and stayed home.
Honestly with the way things are in schools etc, I would recommend being your children's champion and stay home.
You'll have kids that are less likely to have problems, be protected and share your ideals and values.
Don't ever underestimate what those extra touches, hugs and smiles mean in a life of a child - let alone the reading etc skills.
Around Grade 4 they are more ready to launch - but need you constantly as a teen - even just as a chauffeur - and they will be sure of themselves and their character (or defects).
You can't really have it all unless you have great family/friend support - doing the rat race takes it all from the kids and you.
How well you managed with sick kids is a true indicator of how well it is working.

Re: The New Mom Dilemma: Stay at Home or Return to Work?
Hey Maddy, thank you so much for that link , there are so many positions on here that I think I am qualified to do. It will be so nice to find a good work at home job that pays pretty decent, so that I can stay at home and spend more time with my family, thanks so much will let you know how things go. I want to stay at home and not return to work. Hope to hear more. Deedee

I don't have any kids as yet but definitely interested in working from home. I have dibbled and dabbled in a few work at home jobs but nothing ever panned out. I think I'll apply to that link Sandy. Hopefully I can begin working at home by the new year so I can focus on adopting my baby. Thanks Lesley
