Top 10 Classic Board Games for Kids

Board games are a great way for families to spend quality time together. Read our list of the top ten classic board games.

I love to see board games recommended! We do not own a Playstation, Wii, or any other electronic gaming thingys, and my daughter is constantly teased about this. BUT... we have stacks and stacks of board games, cards, dominoes, etc., and we enjoy playing several times a week! We especially love Sorry! and Monopoly. Board games are great teaching tools for little bugs. We also have Boochie from Cranium which is an outside game but can easily be played in a large indoor room.

Game on!

Love that yahoo, fascinating information.

Will read up and hopefully have something good to say.

Have a good day.

Have you tried Ladybirds and Bus Stop from Orchard Toys - both very good for 3 - 6 year olds. They teach essential number concepts through a game which has enough luck built in for the child to be quite capable of winning!

Other good games for young kids are the BlueOrange ones, like froggy Boogie and Speedy Eddy. Both my children played these at 2. A good one for 5 or 6 and up is Wits & Wagers Family. Check out our blog for more tips on games and teaching games to children:

I also love the games by eBoo (a paper dolls game, a picnic game, some memory games, etc.). Perfect for board-game beginners, ages 3 to 6ish!
