ADD Diagnosis: The Multidisciplinary Approach
I liked most of your article. However the sentence "In such a case there does not appear to be a neurological basis to ADD." disturbs me. This is not a case of ADD, but a child reacting to the stress in the family. You sort of say it, but it is not clear in this article that this child probably does not have ADHD at all.
I fully support the notion that children suspected of having ADHD should be diagnosed by a team of specialist. I would however, suggest an occupational therapist and a speech therapist be added. I am not sure if a social worker is needed. The psychologist should talk to the family. Anyway these are my comments.
