Every parent wants their child to be the best in the class, the cop out is the teaching system and the high performance standards that local school districts/individual schools are hoping to achieve. Frankly I know I was not subject to time tests in maths as a first grader, & my daughter and her fellow students are freaking out because of these tests.

Our daughter's teacher called us today to tell us our daughter was in a very sour/depressed mood and didn't know the reason why! We did in fact discover that our our neighbors child who's in the same 1st grade as our daughter is stressing out too. This is what our local teachers are doing. That these two children are both having issues isn't a function of them, its that this methodology is plain out WRONG. The idea that timed math tests for 6 years olds is right is ridiculous!
