Another area for applying critical thinking
One of the things we talk with our children about is advertising. We ask them questions about the commercial (for example) and what they are trying to do. We ask (and explain when necessary :-) if the statements made during the commercial are opinions or facts. Learning to differentiate between opinion and data are another aspect of critical thinking.
