Homeschooling with a Disability

In this article, a mother explains why the choice to homeschool was the right one for her and her child.
Homeschooling with a Disability
We too began homeschooling due to our children having what society deems to be "disability", ADD and ADHD. Our teen also has some other issues that made him the perfect target for bullies and undesirable behaviors. It was terrible difficult for them to be up at 5am to catch their bus by 6am. The stress level for the entire family was through the roof. No school can address the needs of all of the students with ADD as each child is different. Now we are free from having to deal with a system that insists kids be "programed" to fit in and only learn as they are told.
