November 13, 2008 11:21 PM 12 year old/Homework/friend problems in school
My 12 year old son is probably two years behind his peers mentally. He is very intelligent yet very behind the times; shall we say. He is also very physical with his peers. Always pushing, shoving, kicking and to him it is all in good fun but his peers can not stand it and understandably so. We have finally forbid him to touch any of his peers at all, unless it is during a sport that requires physical contact. He is not doing his Homework and when he does he forgets to turn it in. Recently he has told us that a couple of times he did not have a partner when necessary for PE and he was left out alone. I am not sure what to do. I am at a loss. Please help!!!Someone respond and tell me if they have had the same experience?

November 12, 2008 11:44 AM 7th Grader in Gifted School not doing his Homework
My son for the first time ever brought home a C, but not just 1 C but 3. When we received the progress report he would have received A's on all of these courses had he done/turned in his homework. I have had conversations with his teachers and they are simply not able to tell me if anything is going on in his school which is affecting his performance. He attends a Gifted School and seems to be doing fine, we have asked him if it is too hard and he insists it is not. If he does the homework, he does not turn it in. I do not know what to do. We have taken all electronics away from him and he did homework the entire weekend. I just received another email from a teacher that yet again he did not turn in his homework. Help!!!!
