The last two holidays I enjoyed 're-engaging' with my son and daughter on an intellectual level. Specifically for my son, I decided to research the syllabus of grades 3-6 primary school mathematics. All of us hit the books for about 1.5 hours every weekday on their school holidays. With this time I could guide him through some advanced math concepts, but also make it interesting by integrating MS Excel into his lessons. He was in Grade 3 but could learn and apply himself nicely at a Grade 5 level. Ultimately, I didn't think this was necessary ... and I like your tip which suggests drills to increase speed. He gets some of that from Mathletics. Cheers, Colin

my husband and I had a disagreement about how much i ask my stepson to do things and when i should ask him to do things for me. It felt like an attack. he (my husband) mentioned that the stepson should not be treated like a slave oh the work went straight to my heart like i was stabbed by a knife. i was sobbing on my way to work asking myself if he doesnt notice the change ive brought upon the boys life. i am hurt.
My stepson is a lazy child, in most cases i have to get him do his school stuff starting from the signing of the diary, making sure his school uniform is complete and clean, et c. i have played a motherly role to him for the past 6years and it has not been easy.
i am not a soft person by nature, i can be harsh if circumstances require me to. i have a bold voice and i do not like an untidy house whatsoever so i make sure to voice that out to people around me.
i need an advice on how to do the stepparenting, i am rather frustrated. i said to my husband i will let him do the parenting and observe not because i want that but i feel i am treated unfairly.

Learning Math can be tough but what I do with my kids is I guide them and together we look for a way to make Math easy for them, my older kids play Math cool games , where they are getting rewards for playing educational games. My youngest knows now how to count and read numbers and she's not even going to school yet, I also let her play educational games online, of course with my guidance.
