My stepson is 6 years and just started first grade a few weeks ago. His mom and dad are completely frustrated with how badly he is doing in school. We have all done everything on this list, but he still continues to progess badly in school. He lacks confidence and is distracted very easily. His mother tried to put him in soccer to help his confidence and burn off some of his pent-up energy. He hates it. Unfortunately, we can't control what he does with her, because she doesn't listen to anyone's advice. If you could somehow give us some more specific tips on these things, we'd try even harder to influence her into helping us.
