It's a wonderful idea to check to see if your child has friends in a club that you know will benifit them. I did that with both my children in not only clubs but sports as well. My son was reluctant to join math club this year but once his friend said he'd go if my son went it was a sealed deal and they both had fun and want to continue attending. This not only helped him accademically but it boosted both boys confidence! My son isn't as shy or afraid to ask questions or voice his concerns. my daughter is the same way with sports or at least she was in the beginning , she wouldn't join a sport unless she had a friend on the team. Now she joins because she loves the sport and she has friends that come to the game to cheer her on. I hope their love for the sports and clubs they join will continue into middleschool + high school I know I'll encourage them to continue.
