Meet Sarah Palin, Working Mom of 5 and VP Candidate

Republican presidential nominee John McCain made party history by selecting the GOP's first female vice-presidential candidate, Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska. Get to know Governor Palin's professional history, personal story, and her stance on key issues.
know all the facts
juladelo,
Obama is NOT for taking guns away from people. He respects the 2nd amendment but stands for preventing guns from getting in the hands of children and criminals. Innocent children are killed on city streets every single day. Would you really disagree with that policy?? Take a minute to really know all the facts and weigh the importance of these issues. Are you so against stricter (safer) gun laws that you would sign up for another 4 years of an illegal war, crumbling economy, and mismanaged healthcare and education system?

Those who recommended dittomom's post
You should be ashamed of yourself for praising the promotion of bigotry shown in that post. His middle name has nothing to do with his policies. Palin is not qualified, I am a woman, and would love to see a woman in this spot, but not just any woman. She did not know what the Bush doctrine was for heaven's sake! Being a NRA member and hockey mom and even governor of a small state (population wise) is not enough. Vote Democratic and get some real change, not 4 more years of misery!

whatever; Sarah is great!
Does Hauseman know that he spelled republicans wrong? I am a republican and I am nothing like what he describes. Please stop stereotyping us all as bible thumpers and unintellegent. Obama is very anti-gun. That scares me. The saying goes " When guns are outlawed only outlaws will have guns. " There are a lot of other issues that are personal that should stay personal. But this effects us all. Go McCain/Palin!!!!!

We LOVE, LOVE her!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally a woman politician that represents us!We desperately need a Mom with special needs child in the White House! Yeah! We have Obama here in IL and we rank near last in healthcare and education for special needs kids. He never even responds to his constitutents regarding his IL issues. He is in it for him only! He is a product of the Daily Machine in Chicago! He never goes against his Democratic Party!

Ms. Palin
The picking of Sarah Palin as a potential VP is a joke (albeit not a very funny one), and an insult to women's intelligence. Just because she wears lipstick, she in no way represents American women. She is underqualified, [filtered word]y, arrogant and shallow. She is inexcusably ignorant of so many issues a VP should be well versed in, as her recent ABC interview revealed. She sounded rehearsed, skirted around issues using talking points, but there is absolutely no evidence of any depth of understanding. She is definitely NOT a breath of fresh air: she will drive this country even further into stone ages, and frankly I am worried that this woman can potentially lead this country. Wake up, people, and see beyond the pretty face! We made a gross mistake twice by electing the present administration. Must we suffer through 4 more years or ignorance, arrogance and mismanagement?

I love Sarah!
What is not to love about this woman? She is pro-life, married to one man, Christian, pro-drill, NRA member, hockey mom, no nonsense, lady. She is more qualified than Barrack HUSSEIN Obama.

Well....
...they're Republikans. That's my motivation for voting for Bob Barr. We need to start voting third party, and stop voting for the lesser of the two evils. Both major parties are bought and paid-for, thus they are not interested in "We The People" at all.

Seems to me, all these Repugnikans have a huge collection of skeletons they don't want anyone knowing about. But when they ARE discovered, they immediately switch into hyper-denial mode.

Since her daughter is pregnant, this reflects on Palin's apparent lack of good parenting. I hear R-word candidates and supporters all clamoring about "family values", but I seldom see them actually LIVING the life they talk about so much. This makes them hypocrites of the worst kind, to me.

I wouldn't have so much of a problem with these people, if they'd just SHUT UP and concentrate on important issues like bringing the troops HOME where we need them.

Totally unqualified
She's completely unqualified to be VP (and possible president). The whole point of a VP is to have someone who can act as President if something should happen to the President. Do you really want Sarah Palin to be your President? I think that is what you have to consider when making your vote.
