ATTN: ipirlo- I agree with RANKIN, It's 2011, there are 7 BILLION people in this world.. There are so many versions of names that are used for both males and females.. I chose to name my DAUGHTER Addison Grace, after many hours of debate with my husband and we both love the name.. Many people think it is because of the TV show "Grey's Anatomy", but its not we just both truly love it.. and anyone that has had the privilege of meeting my beautiful 7 month old daughter, says what a gorgeous name it is.. Not like I need any validation from ANYONE.. SSOOOO Quit your whining and stop making excuses for your whiny kid, buck up and tell him there are many "shared" names.. Get over yourself and grow UP!

What a haughty presumptuous attitude. My daughter was born in 1991, thank you very much, and I named her Addison because it was a family last name. I now see the name frequently in both sexes, although at the time in 1991---I never saw it as a first name. You've got bigger problems if your son can't feel comfortable about his name just because a girl has it also. Finally, how small minded are you? You think a name will determine how your child will act? So Pat, Chris, Bobby, Billie, Gene, Michael, Shannon, Tracy, (all used by BOTH sexes)--- grow up.

In 1999 or so My husband and I watched an Excellent movie Called "Gideon" with Great actors like Charlton Heston and Carroll O'Connor just to name a few. Charlton Heston played a great Philosopher a very dignified man in the movie his name was Addison SON of ADAM. I was pregnant with our first son and we had not found a name we liked. All of a sudden we looked at each other and knew that Addison was the name for our first born if he was a son and so it was to be when I had him. Now, 10yrs later so many have taken his name and made it female. I now have a son who once loved his name because it was unique and different and followed a tradition. Thanks to all the people who just can't use the other 4 billion truly female names. My son now has to feel that his name is a girl's name. Thanks for making my job harder as a parent. Kids have enough crap to deal with. Name your girls like girls maybe they will act like women.
